Oil India Limited extends relief to flood-hit communities of Charaideo and Sivasagar

The recent flood in Charaideo and Sivasagar districts of Assam has left behind submerged homes and disrupted lives. As per ASDMA reports, 622 villages are affected as on 28.07.2026. Death count has crossed 65 and over five lakh individuals have been affected across Assam.

The unforeseen episode of flood in upper Assam created an urgent need for healthcare, essential supplies, and compassionate support. Responding to this need, Oil India Limited (OIL), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, brought timely medical care and relief to affected communities, reaffirming its commitment to standing beside the people when they needed it most.

Oil India Limited organized flood relief medical camps through Project OIL Sparsha – Mobile Medical Unit in flood-affected areas of Charaideo and Sivasagar districts, which continues as on date.

The camps provided essential healthcare services to flood-affected beneficiaries, ensuring access to timely medical care during the crisis. As part of the relief efforts, drinking water, dry food items, including baby food, were also distributed to affected families.

Further, under Project OIL Shakti, sanitary napkins were distributed to women in relief camps, supporting menstrual hygiene and well-being during this difficult period.
